THE VIRUS SONG lyrics (with keyboard)
Jennifer Elster
You got me cleaning and doing the floors.
You’ve got me wiping down the handles of doors. Look at you go, you’re relentless and free.
And you just might kill me.
I don’t see dying, don’t see dying this way. Oh virus, virus, virus please go away.
Am I what you are here for, a living bacteria, speckle, a spore.
I don’t see dying, don’t see dying this way.
Oh please, oh please virus, oh please go away. Look at you go, you’re relentless and free.
You just might be the thing that kills me.
On my fifteenth birthday my dad brought a man. Into our place, and he was tall when he stand.
I said “don’t leave me, don’t leave with him.” He’s jacked up and has a weird look on his face. But he didn’t listen, didn’t listen to me.
The man was crying about his son who got killed the night before.
My dad said “I couldn’t imagine that happening to my daughter” then he closed the bathroom door.
He went from the kitchenette to the window by me.
But I knew there wasn’t anything he wanted to see.
He pulled out our butcher knife on me.
He held me down, butcher knife by my neck.
With his eyes spinning whirly around and he said to me; “I’m gonna kill, gonna kill you you’ll see.”
He didn’t say you’ll see, he just said “I’m going to kill you.”
My dad crashed in and knocked him down.
I ran out blood dripping down.
Knocked on my neighbors door and she saw me.
She closed the door and that’s that part of my history.
I don’t see dying, don’t see dying this way.
Oh virus please, oh please, oh please go away. Look at you go, you’re relentless and free.
And you just might kill me.
Oh virus, virus, virus, please go away.
I’ve been here long enough, I want to stay.
Oh please don’t look, please don’t look at me.
Cause you just might be the thing that kills me.
Oh virus ,virus, virus, please go away.
I just can’t see dying this way.
Look at you go, you’re relentless and free. And you just might be what kills me.
Oh virus ,virus, virus, please go away.
I just don’t see, I just don’t see dying this way. Look at you go, you’re relentless and free. And you just might be what kills me.
Oh virus ,virus, virus, please go away.
I don’t see dying, and I wanna stay.
It’s been so much fun, I can’t take it no more. But all I want is more and more.
Oh virus, virus, virus, please go away.
I don’t see dying, don’t see dying this way. Look at you go, you’re relentless and free. And you just might be what kills me.
